Activity description

Battle with the raw power of mother nature on this demanding beginner's canyoning course at Alpine Roses Gorge in the Tirol.

A fast-paced gorge in the heart of the Austrian Alps, this beginner's canyoning experience is designed for the sporty first-timer who's prepared to push their limits. Catch up with the whitewater as it races towards the open ocean on this altitude summer adventure in the infamous Austrian Tirol! This impressive canyoning tour offers a mix of knee-trembling jumps, fast slides and free-hanging abseil passages - all hidden deep within the walls of the Alps.

Location
Alpine Roses Gorge (Alpenrosen) is in the Ötztal/ Ochsengarten region of the Tirol in Austria. Located near the village of Oetz in the Ötztal Valley, this canyon is in the middle of an alpine forest at 900 metres above sea level and filters meltwater from the Alps to Piburger See Lake. Known in winter for its ski resort at Hochoetz, in summer Oetz can be accessed by mainline train or motorway from Innsbruck and the international airport that is only 45-minutes away.

Activity
Meet your instructor at the activity centre in Tarrenz for a 4.5-hour canyoning excursion in Alpenrosen Gorge. An adventurous course suited to sporty first timers that are 14 years and older, this woodland canyon is accessible from the centre of Oetz and requires a moderate level of fitness. A fun, fast-paced canyon in the Ötztal mountains, this route is packed with heart-racing activities that include partly free hanging abseiling, slides and jumps in deep pools in the midst of a unique mountain world in the Ötztal Tyrol! An authentic experience that ticks all the boxes when it comes to canyoning, try rappelling techniques from 16m and learn how to navigate fast flowing water before you reach the end 10-minutes outside of town, where you will be transported back to the activity centre - enjoying a warm shower and snacks once you're done.

Conditions
A demanding and physical canyoning adventure, the total duration in the canyon is two hours and has a total transfer time of 25 minutes. All jumps, abseils and slides are avoidable but strongly recommended, including:
Abseil: 16m
Jumps: 4m
Slides: 8m

First time to try canyoning without experience in rope climbing. This event is perfect for beginners, exciting but not too much
