E-bike tour from Chania to the Theriso Gorge

Explore the wonderful Theriso Gorge with an E-bike tour starting from Chania! 

Location
The Gorge of Therisso (named also Eleftherios Venizelos) is located 10 km south of Chania. With its impressive cliffs and nature, the gorge is one of the most beautiful gorges in Crete!   

Program
We start with a quick introduction to the use of electric mountain bikes. Then we ride from the outskirts of Chania straight into Theriso gorge. The scenery changes surprisingly fast, one minute we were in the city, and the next we are immersed in nature! We ride on a quiet road full of green, where tall plane trees will shade us and the river flows next to us. Along the way, we watch the cliffs and the rocky formations that form the gorge walls.

The road climbs up for a while. Thanks to the electric bikes we can adjust the effort we put in, and save some energy to enjoy all the beautiful scenery! Towards the end of the climb, we get to Theriso village. Here we enjoy a short break, we stretch our legs around the large square and breathe in the revolutionary air.

Past Theriso village, we go through an impossibly scenic section of cypress woods and tall vertical cliffs on the foothills of the White Mountains.

Then it’s all downhill. We pass a mountain village with natural springs and end up in the orange valley, where avocado and citrus fruit trees spread to the horizon.

We finish on flat roads back to where we started, where we say goodbye and depart with memories to cherish.
