Activity description

Explore the beautiful and legendary Vulture Valley with a hiking excursion starting at Sirikari Gorge near ok Kissamos!

Program
Walk a rocky path through a beautiful, little known gorge. The path has been used for years by goatherds and villagers to unite remote hill villages with the town of Kissamos. Our meeting point is in Kissamos, and we have a short car journey to the start of the walk.
The path is accessible to most walkers. To pass through the whole gorge needs about 3 hours walking, including rest breaks, along a rocky path varying in width. Goats freely wander along the path with us, and Griffon vultures are often spotted flying overhead. As we walk we will see (and smell) the many wild herbs that grow through the year, as well as admiring the river vegetation and soaring cliffs as we soak in the tranquil atmosphere inside the gorge.
Once we exit the gorge, our transport will be waiting to take us back to Kissamos.
