Located in the heart of the Massif des Bauges Regional Nature Park and bordered by the towns of Aix-les-Bains and Le Bourget-du-Lac, Lac du Bourget offers breathtaking scenery! Almost 18 kilometres long, Lac du Bourget is the largest natural lake in France. With water temperatures regularly between 20 and 25°C in summer, packrafting on Lac du Bourget is a great experience! Departing from Le Bourget-du-Lac, not far from Chambéry, hike along the shores of Lac du Bourget to reach Hautecombe Abbey, a 12th-century abbey with spectacular views over the Massif des Bauges Regional Nature Park. Once on the shores, take a packraft out on Lac du Bourget and admire the turquoise waters! A hybrid between a sea kayak and a raft, the packraft is a very light inflatable kayak!

Course of events

- Meeting at Hautecombe Abbey.
- Welcome by the instructor and briefing on the activity, equipment and safety rules.
- Hike of around 2.5 kilometres, then a short walk along a narrower path until you reach Lake Bourget.
- Inflate your packraft.
- Sailing on LakeBourget in a packraft with a swimming break.
- Return to the shore of the lake and stow the packrafts.
- Walk back to the meeting point and debriefing of the activity.
