Activity description
Discover a magnificent cave with an underground river, just a stone throw away from Tarascon-sur-Ariege! It's an original opportunity for an excursion with family or friends!
You will follow a small river that runs on black marbles, veined with wonderful white quartz that ends with a natural slide... A unique decor awaits you in the cave of Vicdessos.
You will have the choice between different routes, with or without using ropes, to reach the underground canyon and its small waterfalls which look incredible underground. You will walk in the beautiful galleries under the mountain of the rock of Olbier for half a day and you will use your time underground to learn the basics of speleology: recognise the rock formations and orientation.
It is certainly one of the most beautiful initiation itinerary in France... Don't miss it!
You'll meet your instructor at the agreed time and place to reach the caving spot together.
Once you're there, you'll start with a security briefing and get geared up before learning the different techniques you'll use during your traverse.
The activity should last around 3 hours.
