Activity description

If you have passed a minimum Level 1 diving certification, exploration dives in Raiatea await you!

As for the majority of the islands and atolls of French Polynesia, diving is an activity not to be missed in Raiatea. Beginners can take their first dive there, while more experienced divers can go on an exploration dive! There are a large number of dive sites in Raiatea that offer a variety of incredible environments. Depending on your level of diving and the weather, but also on your desires, you can dive on these wonderful sites among others:

Miri Miri (from Level 1 or Open Water)
Depths up to 29 meters with good visibility and many fish: black tip sharks, napoleon fish, schools of perch, snappers, etc.

Raoto Nui Pass (from Level 1 or Open Water)
Depth up to 29 meters to enjoy large schools of barracudas and flights of leopard rays.

The Nordby wreck (from Level 1 or Open Water)
Depth to 29 meters where the wreck of this old three-masted ship sunk in 1900 is located. Possibility to enter the wreck with about fifteen species listed: surgeon fish, shrimps, bighead jacks, nudibranchs, etc.

The Rairas (from Level 1 or Open Water)
Depth up to 25 meters where encounters with grey sharks are frequent.

Teavapiti Pass (from Level 1 or Open Water)
Depths up to 29 meters where a large number of pelagic fish can be observed: white and black tip sharks, grey sharks, leopard rays, barracudas, napoleon fish, and sometimes even tunas and manta rays.

The Roses (from Level 2 or Rescue Diver)
Depths ranging from 35 to 50 meters offering a descent to a carpet of coral roses, as well as beautiful encounters with tuna, rays, hammerhead sharks and even swordfish.

Octopus Hole (from Level 2 or Rescue Diver)
24 meters deep in the lagoon of Taha'a, an impressive cave with a stalactite covered entrance.

Between dive sites rich in aquatic fauna like the Teavapiti Pass and others with impressive formations like the Octopus Hole, exploration diving in Raiatea is an experience not to be missed!
