Rafting Excursion down the Lousios River in the Peloponnese

The Peloponnese is a large peninsula located in southern Greece, separated from the mainland by the Corinth Canal. The Peloponnese is characterised by its varied geography, including rugged mountains, fertile plains, and scenic coastline. It is surrounded by the Ionian Sea, the Aegean Sea, and the Corinthian Gulf. 

The adventure begins at the starting point in Arcadia, located in the Peloponnese region. You'll be greeted by the experienced river guide and transferred to the Lousios River for the rafting excursion. To begin, you'll go through a brief training and receive the equipment (wet suit, life jacket, helmet, and paddle). No previous rafting experience is required to take part in this adventure!

Once you feel comfortable, you'll begin paddling in the inflatable boat along the crystal-clear waters of the Lousios River. It was believed that Zeus, the Olympian God, was bathed in the waters of Lousios after he was born by the nymphs Theisoa, Neda and Agno. As you descend the river, enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the Peloponnese region!

After traversing the thrilling rapids of Lousios, you'll enter the longest river of the Peloponnese, Alfios. According to Greek mythology, Alfios was a God-river who fell in love with the nymph Arethusa, making this river one of the most mythical in Greece. Both rivers are surrounded by an impressive gorge with white limestone cliffs, meandering through picturesque scenery, verdant forests, and tranquil waters.

During summer months, the river conditions and the volume of the water make this activity easy and suitable for everyone, beginners and families. You'll take breaks throughout the trip to admire the stunning scenery and swim in the refreshing waters. At the end of the thrilling adventure, you'll return to the starting point in Arcadia.
