Activity Snapshot
Activity description
This excellent wine tasting hike offers a unique mix of hiking in the heart of Karpathos, feeling the fresh air of abandoned regions, smelling the grapes in the vineyards and learning about local Greek wines - which you will also get to taste. The Greek island Karpathos, and especially its central and northern regions are famous for its high-quality red and white grapes and rich vineyards. No wonder why the island's locally produced wine, such as the demi-sec red wine, became so popular!
After meeting your tour guide just above the village of Volada, you experience a beautiful walk through the natural surroundings of Pini. Following this first adventure, you will be guided through the vineyard and after the walk, you will learn about the different stages of wine-making. The tasting is a combination of sipping, swirling and tasting the locally produced wines while understanding how a grape travels from a vine to a bottle.
