Activity description

Hike to the 12-meter waterfall of Kounoupitsa, close to Thessaloniki. Visit the beautiful Pozar baths and take a swim in the waterfalls or the outdoor pool. Passing by Ramno Bore gorge, you will enjoy the beautiful scenery surrounding you!

Activity
By following the 9,5 km circular route, you will find yourself in the heart of nature and the famous thermal springs of northern Greece. Rich flora, plenty of streams, and 5,5 hours of absolute fun. You will hike, swim, dive if you wish to, and take memorable photos to remember this excursion forever!

Location
Approximately 2 hours by car from Thessaloniki, this green location is filled with gorges, waterfalls and forests. You’ll get to see first-hand St Nicholas stream, and the gorge of Ramno Bore, which consists of three main streams: Isio Pefko, Louta, and Kounoupitsa. Pozar, also known as Loutraki baths, will surely leave you speechless. Don’t forget you’ll visit Kounoupitsa waterfall, that looks like it came out of a fairy-tale.

What to expect
Once you meet your guide at Pozar, you will start following the route behind the thermal baths. The first 30 minutes are demanding, moving on a rocky slope among trees, but you will soon reach St Nicholas stream and enjoy its view.

Continuing, you will arrive at a guardhouse with a kiosk and a water source, passing from grassland. For the next 50 minutes, you will follow a green and leafy path ending to Ramno Bore gorge. 10-15 later, you will finally arrive at Kounoupitsa waterfall, where you will be able to take photos and/or dive.

Following the same itinerary for your return, once at Pozar, you will enjoy a thermal bath in the waterfalls or the outdoor pool.
