Get ready to spend an unforgettable 1.5 or 3 hours glacier hike on the Falljökull glacier from Skaftafell!

The Falljökull glacier, the glacial tongue of the imposing Vatnajökull, is an exceptional site for glacier trekking in the Vatnajökull National Park. Equipped with all the equipment you need for this activity, you will set off to conquer this "cascade of ice" alongside an experienced guide who will tell you the story of the formation of this glacier, as well as its evolution towards the ocean.

You can choose between a 1.5-hour or 3-hour glacier hike on the Falljökull glacier from Skaftafell, a 15-minute drive away. Whether you have done this before or not, you will have an incredible time admiring the amazing scenery: crevasses, mesmerising blue ice formations, breathtaking views of Hvannadalshnúkur, etc. - a real feast for the eyes! Hiking boots must be worn: it will not be possible to add the crampons required for the activity to other footwear.

It is very important to wear warm clothing, preferably waterproof, so that you can enjoy the excursion to the full.

Please give yourself plenty of time to drive from Reykjavík: in good conditions, the journey takes approx. 4.5 hours without stops, but with poor weather or road conditions, the journey will take longer.

Zeker een aanrader voor wie IJsland bezoekt! De staff was heel vriendelijk. We kregen speciale schoenen en materiaal om op de gletsjer te lopen. Nadien werden we met een bus tot aan de gletsjer gevracht, waar de gids ons stond op te wachten.
