Activity description

Looking for the Northern Lights? Want to take a walk on a glacier? Why not combine the two, walking the Sólheimajökull glacier in the daylight and searching for the legendary Aurora Borealis in the black of night.

This tour gives you the opportunity to get the most out of a day in Iceland. First you will head to the Sólheimajökull glacier for a fairly easy and safe glacier walk across the ice field. Here you will be engulfed in a land of ice features and spectacular colors from the deepest blues to crystal clear almost mirror-like reflections that only this type of ice can emanate. Check out the water cauldrons, crevasses, ridges and towering ice structures. Learn about the formation of the glaciers and their connection the landscape that surrounds the country.

After the glacier walk you will head out to the deluge that is the Skógafoss waterfall. On sunny days it is possible to see a double rainbow here. All this walking and discovery is going to build up an appetite where a traditional Icelandic dinner at a local restaurant awaits to satisfy said hunger. After dessert you will head into the night and stop at the lit up Seljalandsfoss waterfall, a must see, before searching for those elusive Northern Lights. This tour is an epitome of a full day in Iceland, get that camera ready as you'll have photos to fill even the most active of social media feeds.
