This two-part experience offers an incredible mix of whale watching, sightseeing, and witnessing the breathtaking Northern Lights! Enjoy the fresh air on the Atlantic Ocean while enjoying Iceland's nature at its finest!
On this tour, you will also experience the spectacular views of the mountains and the numerous islands that surround Reykjavik as well as its wonderful birdlife. You'll sail into Faxafloi Bay in search of minke, humpback and killer whales, as well as dolphins and harbour porpoises!
The ship is equipped with spacious and heated indoor cabins, washrooms, a bar, and complimentary WiFi. They sell light snacks, beverages, and beer. In addition, winter overalls are available to all participants.
After whale watching, you’ll have time ashore to get yourself ready for the second part of the activity, the Northern Lights experience!
The second part of the tour will begin at 9 p.m./10 p.m. and last 2-3 hours. Experience the Northern Lights like never before. Embark on an experience that you will remember forever, guiding you on a Northern Lights tour by the sea in Iceland. It's a unique experience to see the Northern lights from the sea. You can relax in a nice atmosphere in warm overalls while enjoying snacks and refreshments available on board. In addition, you'll learn about the history of the Northern Lights along with the ancient beliefs of the local people.
This fully-immersive combination tour will leave you truly amazed at Iceland's natural beauty!
Please note that you should schedule to be at the meeting point at least 30 minutes before the scheduled departure.
Whale Watching Tours departure times:
January - December: 13:00
March - 15 November: 9:00 / 13:00
15 May - September: 9:00 / 13:00 / 17:00
The Whale Watching tour takes approx. 3-3.5 hours.
Northern Lights Cruise departure times:
15th March - 15th April: 22:00
September: 22:00
October - 14th March: 21:00
The Northern Lights Cruise takes approx. 2-3 hours.
All minors must have authorization from their parents.
Special terms
All excursions are subject to weather conditions and sightings cannot be guaranteed. If there are no sightings on the tour, you'll be able to use your ticket to join the next available trip.
Please note: Whale Watching and Northern Lights are a natural activity governed by the laws of the weather. If any tour (part of combo) is cancelled due to bad weather, the Combo ticket is refunded if the following tour was not joined before or you can change your reservation to the next available day.
If you don't see a whale, you have the option to take the tour again for free.
Please be aware that due to environmental reasons during certain times of the year trips may be delivered on a shared boat with a partner operator. The Icelandic instructors are committed to ensuring the environment is kept pristine by making sure fewer boats are on the water.
Before your tour:
Please, check the DAILY DIARY on the tour provider's website and your EMAIL inbox (or spam) before you come for the tour. All the important daily information about all tours will be notified via email or on the website.
Pick-up information:
Pick-ups must be booked a minimum of one hour before the tour's departure time, all pick-ups booked after that will be discarded.
If you chose the pickup service, pickup starts 60 min. prior departure, please be ready at the pickup point at this time.
If you did not choose pickup service, please meet us at the Reykjavik Old harbour pier 30 minutes before departure.
Pickup service (round trip) fee applies to first boat tour, if due to lack of sightings tour is joined for free again, pickup service must be added and paid again.
