Activity description

If you have a diving certificate and have already dived in a drysuit, the exploration dive in the Silfra fault in Iceland is waiting for you!

A fissure created by the movement of the Eurasian and American tectonic plates, which gradually pull apart each year, the Silfra Fault is a must-see scuba diving site in Iceland. With exceptionally clear waters that allow you to see up to 100 metres in front of you and impressive rock formations, Silfra offers incomparable freshwater diving conditions that every certified diver in Thingvellir (Þingvellir) National Park must discover!

The Silfra exploration dive, which can be organised from Reykjavík by the team or directly on site, takes 30 to 40 minutes to visit the main parts of the fault: Big Crack, the narrowest section of Silfra; Silfra Hall; Silfra Cathedral; and finally the entrance to Lake Þingvallavatn. In a group of 4 divers (including the dive master), you will dive to a maximum depth of 18 metres, with all the equipment required.

If you are a certified diver, don't miss the chance to dive into the Silfra Fault for a unique experience! And if you are not a certified diver, or if you have never dived in a drysuit before, don't hesitate to opt for snorkelling in the Silfra fault, an activity that is just as extraordinary!
