Activity description

Explore the Emarese trail to the Joux Pass on the MTB tour in the Ayas Valley.

A landscape that has long been the training ground for cycling hopefuls on the Giro Italia, now’s your chance to discover the Monta Rosa Massif and its dramatic alpine crown on this MTB guided tour of the Joux Pass.

Location
Col de Joux (1640m) is a woody pass linking Saint-Vincent with Brusson. It runs past charming hamlets and goes through beautiful woods, providing wonderful views of the central valley and Val d’Ayas. Col de Joux also hosts the final Ayas section of Ru Courtod, an irrigated canal coming from the Ventina glacier and dating back to the 14th century.

Activity
Meet your MTB guide in Mount Avic National Park for this MTB tour along the Joux Pass to Emarese. A full day excursion suited to adventurous beginners of all ages and abilities, start in Challand where you’ll wind through scenic terrain using dirt roads and shepherd tracks to reach the starts of the Joux Pass. Navigating rough terrain to reach rustic villages like Saint Vincent, follow the ancient canal up through the hillside – cooling off in waterfalls and stopping to take in the views. Pushing further up into the forest, you will finally reach the tiny hamlet of Emarese that offers stunning views across the Monta Rose Massif and Ayas Valley. Once you’re ready, the downhill challenge begins, racing your guide back down to Challand where your adventure will end.

Conditions
This guided tour is suitable for groups of friends and families alike. Using easy paths paved roads and dirt tracks through alpine terrain, inclines slope gently but may require you to carry or push your bike in some sections.
