A 20-minute flight, set off from South Island’s busy CBD and travel out towards the sprawling countryside – visiting the newly discovered fault line that caused the 2010 earthquake that nearly devastated the city. During the course of the flight, your pilot will explain more about the cultural heritage and natural history of the region – flying over local landmarks (Cardboard Cathedral, sports stadium & New Brighton Pier) and treasured ruins. Leaving the hustle and bustle of the centre, circle the Port of Lyttelton- the gateway to Antarctica and witness the spectacular scenery of Banks Peninsula, circling back via the suburbs of Sumner and Redcliffs.
Flights are completed in an executive EC130 B4 type helicopter that can accommodate six passengers (weight dependent) with its leather interior, air conditioning, noise cancelling headsets and emergency flotation devices.
