Wilson Creek is a committing and exciting excursion to say the least. Its a unique full day journey you will not forget. So much so we can’t find the words to explain it!
Hiking to the canyon entrance through untouched native forest is a journey unto itself. The forest of this unesco world heritage area is to be treasured. As you hike through the forest there are so many different species of moss within sight you’ll loose count, and not to mention the endless shades of green! Ahhh. You’ll no doubt sweat a bit as well, as we head up a steep ridge and then down an even steeper spur into the upper valley and the canyon entrance. Once there we will off load our canyon packs and enjoy a well earned lunch and fuel up for the adventure ahead. the entrance doesn’t look so extravagant, but within minutes all of your senses will realise where you are, having dropped into one of the deepest and narrowest canyons in the region! Once ‘in’ the only way is down and that will be you, in an other worldly place embracing the variety of different abseils, jumps, swimming and down climbing, all in spectacular sapphire blue waters.
For those of you that are water confident, physically fit and ideally have some relevant experience, this canyon is not to be missed. Get amongst it people, we want to take you there!
For this canyon it is recommended to have done canyoning before, to be fit, motivated and have a sense of adventure.
