Location
The cave system near Bodø is easily accessed by hiking from the town of Fauske - on the outskirts of Valnesfjord. To the west, the road 80 leads to Bodø and Saltstraumen. To the east, Rv 830 will take you to Sulitjelma. The North-Bound traveller changes here from train to the coaches of the "Northern Norway Express". Public transport runs from Bodø to Fauske daily.

Activity
Meet your guide in the town of Fauske for a half-day wild caving excursion in Northern Norway. A 4-6 hour trip, it involves some steady uphill walking for up to 1 hour to reach the caves and then climbing, walking and rappelling within the cave system itself. Suitable for children and big kids alike, the route follows a natural trail that showcases the area's stunning limestone features and challenging squeezes that open up into outstanding caverns. Whilst this tour operates throughout the year, during winter the water forms into beautiful crystal structures that decorate the ceilings.

Conditions
Most of the caves in Norway are "wild" caves and have not been developed in any way. They are the same temperature (above freezing) all year round, and feel cool in the summer and warm in the Winter.
