This activity is run & operated from Sulitjelma in Jakobsbakken and travels into the neighbouring Sulis Mountains. Pick-ups offered from central Bodo (1h30m) or Fauske (30m).

Activity
Meet your guide at the winter cabin in Sulitjelma for this dog sledding excursion in the arctic mountains. A once in a lifetime experience for children and big kids alike - you'll get to experience what it's like to live in this remote area of Norway and have a go at leading your own pack of dogs, too! Your adventure will start with a short safety briefing before wrapping up in winter outerwear (provided by the activity operator). Meeting your pack - a team of 6 strong huskies, you will learn how to harness up and get the dogs ready for the adventure, choosing to kick back in the sled or learn some simple commands from your guide. Cruising through the sleepy 18th-century mining town, you'll make your way up into the mountains - with the opportunity to see wildlife close up, including reindeer, grouse and foxes. After a cosy campfire lunch, it's your chance to take the reins, travel back into town under the supervision of your guide - mastering one of the oldest and most important skills in the arctic!

Conditions
This tour operates from December-March and is suitable for all ages and abilities. Please dress appropriately with snow boots and warm winter outerwear - extra layers provided on-site.
