Meeting point:
Activity description
Come spend the day with the indigenous Sami people and discover the ancient lifestyle of Northern Norway, including the oldest form of transport in the North, reindeer sledding.
Meet us at 9am at our meeting point in Tromso where we will drive down a 90-minute scenic route to our wilderness centre in Camp Tamok. Once arrived, we will provide you with warm clothes and boots before heading off to meet the reindeer.
We will then journey together with the reindeer and our local Sami guides. Sit tight as our friendly reindeer pull you through your own personal Winter Wonderland. We will then stop to introduce you to lasso throwing, a central part of Sami culture in Finmark. This adventure is filled with Sami storytelling and wholesome fun, so get ready to learn everything about Lapland’s beautiful culture.
At the end of your reindeer tour, you will be allowed to feed your new friends. Safely back in Camp Tamok, we will warm up with a hot meal around an open fire in a reindeer herder’s tent. This will allow you plenty of time to relax and take in the beauty of the camp before heading back to Tromsø for 4pm.
Maximum weight of 220kg per sled
