The Piton Maïdo extreme downhill mountain biking tour is for all downhill mountain bikers who want to discover the lush natural beauty of Reunion Island, while enjoying a thrilling ride! Experienced and passionate instructors offer you 2 different routes to make the most of downhill mountain biking on the Piton Maïdo from Saint-Gilles-les-Bains:

- The Mégavalanche: THE ultimate downhill mountain biking experience for all mountain bike champions, starting at an altitude of 2,200 metres for a thrilling 35 kilometers adventure. This tour is fairly technical, as you will be crossing the Mégavalanche ;

- The Maxi "Cap Ouest": an ideal mountain bike descent for freeriders looking to discover a varied and unique terrain, starting on the slopes of Piton Maïdo at an altitude of 2,000 meters. You will enter the heart of the Tamarind forest, which will lead you to the Savane de Saint-Paul, on the seafront - an extraordinary itinerary!

To be able to take part in and enjoy this downhill MTB race on Piton Maïdo, all participants must be regular cross-country or downhill mountain bikers. A team of specialists will be on hand to advise you on the techniques to adopt during the descent to ensure maximum enjoyment!

THE ultimate mountain bike descent for all mountain bike champions, starting at an altitude of 2,200 meters for a thrilling 35 kilometers adventure. This trip is fairly technical, as you'll be crossing the Mégavalanche.

Course of events

- Meeting with the instructor at the meeting point

- Shuttle bus to the excursion departure point (approx. 1 hour's transport)

- Distribution of bikes and safety equipment, followed by fitting out

- Briefing on the route you will be taking and safety rules

- Departure for the descent (approx. 4 hours)

- End of the descent and return of bikes and equipment

Activity requirements

Knowing how to ride a bike is compulsory for this activity, as well as having already ridden downhill.
