The lifeblood that runs through the heart of the Asturias region, the Sella River is renowned for its wide, open channels and casual pace that makes it perfect for first-time paddlers and young families alike. The best way to discover a region considered an untouched paradise, experience dramatic landscapes and unexpected wildlife with canoe rental in Asturias.
The Sella River runs through the autonomous region of Asturias from the Picos de Europa to the Bay of Biscay. This activity starts from the rental base in Arriondas and the endpoint is in Llovio (a few kilometres before Ribadesella).
This activity is suited to all ages and abilities – rental can be organised with 1, 2 and 3 seater canoes available. Whilst completing the full trip to Llovio (4hours) is recommended, groups can choose to stop at Toraño (2 hours) and Fries (3 hours). Guide not included.
Head to the activity base in Cangas de Onís for this canoeing excursion on the Sella River. Suitable for groups of friends and young families alike, this half-day trip follows a 17km route with three 3 abandonment points depending on the age and ability of each group. Launching your canoes in Arriondas, start with a quick safety briefing and a few paddle techniques before you start your own adventure along this famous river – going with the flow and discovering more about the Asturias region and why it is considered a natural paradise.
During the trip, you will navigate a stretch of the river with 13th-century architecture, rolling hills, shallow banks and a few small rapids. Return from Toraño (7Km), Fries (14Km) and Llovio (17Km) to the activity base is included, ensuring you finish your day with a hot shower and light refreshments.

Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and be taller than 1.15m
