Activity description
Mnemba atoll is suitable for divers of all levels from novice to experienced divers. Join SCUBAFISH Zanzibar for an ultimate snorkeling trip and get the chance to swim with the bottlenose dolphins (80% chance).
You'll be picked up from your accommodation (hotels in Kiwenga and Matemwe area are incl. the price). The departure time is normally at 09.00 (can be later, it all depends on the tides) from SCUBAFISH Zanzibar office at the Azanzi Beach Hotel.
Once onsite you'll check in, sign the liability forms and then get geared up ready for your snorkelling adventure. Depending on the tides you'll leave on boat or you'll take the bus (be warned it's a bumpy road!). The boat and bus trip take around 35 minutes.
On the boat you'll have a briefing from the English speaking snorkelling guide. At Mnemba, you'll visit 2 different snorkelling places and you may even get the chance to swim with the doplhins! However, please note there is a very strict no touching and no chasing policy with the dolphins!
On the boat you'll have a soft drink and water (max. 3 per people). In between the snorkelling excursions you'll be served snacks (chapaties, samosa’s, kachoori) and fresh fruits.
You'll also visit the beautiful Sandbank when it is low tide, perfect place for relaxing and to make pictures.
You'll then go to Muyuni Beach where you'll anchor the boat. Here you'll go to a restaurant, there is a roof for shade, tables and chairs, showers, toilets and with a beautiful view of Mnemba. The local chef will prepare a delicious BBQ.
The BBQ has the following:
- Chicken legs
- Fish Papillotte with herbs
- Different salads
- Plain rice or chips
Please note at the restaurant the drinks are not included, which is why it's always a good idea to bring some extra cash along with you.
For the BBQ, vegetarian’s dishes are available on request!
During the full day outing you'll have the time to relax, or have walk on the gorgeous white beach.
You'll be back by 15.30 at Azanzi and then you'll be dropped off at your accommodation.
