Activity description
Spend a weekend on the raging rapids of the White Nile!
No average adventure, this is a rafting experience with added edge! Learn how to tackle some of the world’s most challenging grade V rapids on this weekend river run down the impressive White Nile – stopping along the banks for a taste of local cuisine and Ugandan hospitality along the way!
Location
Operating on a section of the River Nile between Jinja and Kampala, this activity travels from Bujagali Dam on an III-V 25km rapid run near Lake Victoria. Accommodation is situated on the Nile overlooking Bujagali just 6kms from Jinja, with a spectacular view of the Nile, brilliant sunsets and beautiful surroundings.
Activity
Meet your rafting guide in Jinja for this weekend whitewater rafting experience on the River Nile. A two-night three-day adventure that runs from Friday to Sunday, start with an evening of great food spent in the company of your river leaders – learning the safety training and techniques before you hit the water the next morning. The real adventure starts after breakfast with 5 hours of relentless paddling on some of the most exciting whitewater in the world! Organised according to age and ability, choose between the grade 4+ Chop Suey and grade 4 Retrospect – following a flatwater section to Bubgo and Itanda Falls! A quick lunch pit stop on the banks will be followed by 3 rapids in quick succession, Vengeance, Hair of the Dog and Kulu Shaker, all similar grade 3/4 wave trains - all incredibly fun! The last rapid of the day - Nile Special - is a series of 3 incredible waves all named after beer, Nile Special, Bell's hole and Club wave! After the last set of rapids, you will return to the camp for a big BBQ and probably the best nights sleep you've ever had – check out on Sunday afternoon for your return shuttle to Kampala.
