Get to know Cape Kayak Adventures

Cape Kayak Adventures was set up in 2006 when the husband and wife team of Arthur and Tracy Fincham bought and merged two of South Africa’s most well-known Kayak businesses.

After a lifetime devoted to kayaking, the couple decided to set up shop in Three Anchor Bay, Cape Town. Their ethos was simple - to provide amazing and memorable tours on kayaks they’d designed and made themselves!

Since 2006 this family business has gone on to become a market leader in the region, providing tours for both novice and expert kayakers alike in and around the bays that sit under the iconic Table Mountain.

Tracy largely focuses on the adventure tour aspect of the business with her wealth of experience as a sports instructor with a passion for customer service. Arthur handcrafts the kayaks, thanks in part to an engineering degree and years of devoted practice, using a myriad of composites from fiberglass to carbon. On certain days you can catch a glimpse of kayaks mid-construction, providing a unique insight into the time and talent needed to produce these wonderful ocean vessels.

The Cape Kayak Adventures objective since the early days has been to promote the sport they love, giving people of all ages and fitness levels the opportunity to fall in love with this excellent recreational activity.

Tours take place in and around Table Bay nature reserve in Cape Town. The area is home to some amazing animal species including Cape Genets, Otters and Mongooses!

The waters around the bay are incredibly rich with ocean mammals such as seals, dolphins and penguins!
