Que hacer en Turégano

Located just 30 km away from Segovia you will find a charming Romanesque town called Turegano. It has a fascinating history and is known worldwide for the monumental Castle of Turegano. A Celtibarian fortress located north of the city, built around a Romanesque church dedicated to Saint Miguel, constructed in the twelfth century.

Although it is a historic landmark, Turegano has a lot to offer to those who visit and want to explore around.

It has beautiful natural landscapes, especially Valley of Piron. This valley is born in Sierra de Guadarrama, excactly at Fuente del Mojon. It is the perfect place for trekkers and nature lovers.

Boasting from the mountains until the Castilian plateau, you can enjoy of beautiful hikes amongst oaks, monasteries and ranches.

With the Valley of Covatillas just next door, you’ll have more than enough vertical limestone walls where you can go abseiling and climbing. Or explore one of the most popular caves in the area ‘La Vaquera’. This cavity is located between the towns of Losana del Piron and Torreiglesisas and has amazing formations and even an underground river!
