Turin is a beautiful city capital Piedmont in the Northwest of Italy and it has a population of around 900.000 inhabitants. Turin is a gem nestled between the Po’ River and the western Alpine range, whose white peaks contrast the red and brown roofs of the city. The mix between fine architecture from the Renaissance, modern buildings and the impressive mountains will leave you speechless.
All year activities
Near Turin you can find one of the biggest Italian drop zones for skydiving: Garzigliana. Experience your self the adrenaline of jumping over the mountains at 4000m of altitude. Alternatively, you can gently paraglide over the hills of the region! In both cases the view will leave you speechless.
Winter activities
In less than an hour from Turin you can reach awesome ski stations, as the Via Lattea with a skiable area of over 400 km and 238 slopes. The domain includes the towns of Sestriere, Sansicario, Cesana, Montgenevre and Claviere. The stations has been freshly renewed in occasion of the winter Olympics in 2006. For the same travelling time you can acces the stations of Bardonecchia and Orelle, which connects directly to les 3 Vallées. To sum it up: Turin is a paradise for snowboarders and skiers that love fresh soft pow!
Summer activities
The Susa Valley and the Po’ river offer incredible spots for white water activities: from rafting and hydrospeed to kayaking and canyoning.If you prefer to stay dry, you can do some freeride and downhill mountain biking on the Superga Hill, at Sestriere and Bardoneccia or in Montgenèvre and Briancon. You can also explore the mountain trails by trekking, or conquer the high peaks on climbing routes or Via Ferrata.
