Sogn og Fjordane : ¿Qué hacer cuando llegas ahí?

Sogn og Fjordane is a county located in Western Norway. It is mainly a rural area with a scattered and sparse population.

Sogn og Fjordane is home to Jostedalsbreen, the largest glacier in mainland Norway (80 kilometers long and 1,957 meters high), located in the Breheimen mountain range. In this area you can also find Hornindalsvatnet, the country’s deepest lake that is famous for its waterfalls.

There is nothing better than doing some trekking or camping in this area to discover the county’s glaciers and mind-blowing scenery. Taking hiking trips in the middle of raging waterfalls and rugged mountains is such a unique experience. The breathtaking landscapes of Sogn og Fjordane make it a dream destination for hiking, camping and surfing trips.

Talking about surfing, one of the most amazing beaches in Norway is located in Hoddevik, a little village in Stad. About 20 years ago, this rare gem of nature was discovered by Torkil Strandvik, who moved there and introduced surfing to the area. In Hoddevik, a fantastic surfing beach is hidden behind the majestic mountains and is protected from the harsh weather conditions of Western Norway.

Throughout the years, Torkil Strandvik managed to transmit his passion for surfing, making it more and more popular, to such an extent that he developed a little hostel, a rental shop and surfing and yoga classes.
