Description de l'activité
Master the basics of whitewater paddling or brush up on your skills with these exciting kayaking courses on the wild rivers of Voss.
Each course boasts 2 days of fun and adventure! Your expert instructor will meet you on the first morning to discuss your experience and aspirations. The weather forecast and water levels will also be considered in planning the day’s activity with you.
Level 1 Introductory Course:
Are you new to kayaking or simply need a refresher? This fun and friendly course aims to provide paddlers with a solid foundation on the basics of kayaking. You will learn all of the necessary skills to kayak in Grade I and II rivers, focusing on personal paddling skills, safe river running strategies, and whitewater safety rescue.
Day one kicks off on flat water followed by a paddle to the Grade 1 river section and pool to start learning the essential skills and develop your confidence in the environment. Day two continues with a paddle up to Grade 2 on any of the following rivers: Vosso, Raundal or Strandaelv.
Level 2 Novice Course:
Looking to strengthen your whitewater paddling skills and build your confidence? This course touches on the basics but assumes paddlers already have standard Grade 2 experience. The course begins on Grade 2 and will gradually progress towards the skills and safety awareness required for Grade 3.
Both days will focus on safe river running strategies, whitewater safety and rescue as well as developing your personal paddling skills for whitewater. Over the weekend, you will learn to develop a roll or make a roll more ‘bombproof,' an essential skill for any whitewater paddler.
Level 3 Intermediate Course:
Are you ready for a challenge? If you have mastered the basics of whitewater paddling and are looking for the next adventure, this course is for you. You will paddle a variety of Grade 3 rivers with a focus on river running strategies, whitewater safety and rescue, and developing your personal paddling on intermediate whitewater.
Day one kicks off with a Grade 2/3 warm up with coaching and safe river running themes. The rest of the course includes plenty of rivers with Grade 3 levels for added fun! Your expert instructor will provide a wealth of knowledge on whitewater paddling venues around Norway and stories to inspire you for your future paddling excursions!
