Descripción de la actividad
Leave nothing but lines on this cross-country skiing experience in Lapland.
A traditional Finnish past time that offers access to some of the most remote parts of the Northern Boreal Forest, clip in for a scenic tour into the heart of Lapland – learning more about the area’s mystical past and festive present. Track footprints in the deep snow as you explore the Taiga – travelling to secret lakes and unique landmarks along the way.
Location
This tour is organised and operated from Rovaniemi on the outskirts of the Finnish Taiga. Part of the Lapland area of the Arctic Circle, this Boreal Forest is the world’s biggest wilderness - stretching east in an unbroken belt from Norway to Newfoundland.
Activity
Meet your guide in Rovaniemi for this half-day cross-country skiing adventure in the Taiga Snow Forest. Suited to groups of friends and families alike, this activity is ideal for total beginners and snow experts – allowing you to navigate parts of this festive forest that can only be seen on foot. Explore the area’s distinctive coniferous tree line on this scenic Nordic skiing tour – following footprints in the snow to mystical new horizons. Set to a leisurely pace, guests will travel deep into the forest – learning how to use traditional hinged bindings to climb uphill, working up a sweat to reach the area’s frozen lake. Unlike other scenic tours, you’ll actually get to ski across it – reaching the more isolated part of the Taiga where wild reindeer, arctic foxes and snow rabbits have been sighted. Following your guide back into town, your transport will be waiting to take you back to your accommodation.
