Ever dream of discovering the unique sensations of freediving without taking several days courses right away? The team of Chango Diving proposes a first freedive only a few minutes of Nice to give you a taste of the discipline!
Contrary to what one might think, freediving is not reserved to an elite made up of extraterrestrials with an extraordinary physiological adaptation. We can all achieve apneas of more than 2 minutes and dive at least 15 metres deep!
During this first freedive, you will learn the basics of breathing, releasing pressure, relaxation underwater and relaxation before a dive. You will dive using a rope at first, and as you progress, you'll start using fins once you understand how deep you can go. You will also be able to observe the fish near the reef if you are not too tired at the end of the session!
Chango Diving gives you the choice between 2 sessions per day:
- the morning from 8.45 am to 12 pm
- in the afternoon from 1.45 pm to 5 pm
6 days a week from April to October and on request off season.
Right in the middle of Cap de Nice and Cap Ferrat, the bay of Villefranche sur Mer stretches over 2.5 kilometres. Facing south, its configuration makes it extremely sheltered from the wind and from the sea currents. During the summer season, there are only few big waves!
This part is an extension of the pre-Alps, so the relief continues to go down quickly under the water, making it one of the best site in the world for the practice of freediving!
In less than 15 minutes of navigation, the bay of Villefranche gives you access to sites from 0 to 200 metres deep!
Not only is the harbor deep, allowing the world class champions to come to train, but it is also endowed with sumptuous falls ranging from 0 to 40 m and caves lined with small red corals and tunnels.
The diving center is equipped with Cressi sub equipment specially adapted to freediving. All the necessary equipment will be provided: Apnea suits, Gara fins, masks and snorkels.
- Meet with your instructor at the diving centre
- Get geared up (you can find lockers on-site) before a short briefing on breathing technics
- Take the boat in the harbor next to the school and you're out for a half day freediving
- Go back to the centre and debrief
Participants must know how to swim.
