Descripción de la actividad
Jet down New Zealand’s largest river and experience the water like never before with this adrenaline packed jet boating activity on Lake Wanaka.
This 60 minute jet boating adventure is a thrilling ride on the lake. You will find yourself skimming across shallow water, over sand bars, through rapids, and around rocks with your boat running at speeds in excess of 80 kilometers per hour. The adventure begins when you meet your guide on Wanaka’s waterfront for a direct departure. Jet boating towards the snow-capped mountains, prepare to enter one of the world’s swiftest flowing rivers, the Clutha River. As the Clutha is famous for its fast crystal clear waters, your guide will push things along a bit further by skillfully navigating through the shallow water, tunnels, giant pressure waves, and speeding past trees mere inches away.
Next comes the Hamilton Spin! This high speed manoeuvre causes the boat to spin rapidly on the spot creating a force that will be sure to get your adrenaline pumping. Throughout the adventure your guide will provide commentary on the area and the jet boat itself. Lastly, your guide will take you to a spot where you will be able to capture all the stunning beauty in one shot: mountains ranging over 2000 meters into the sky, the famous Lake Wanaka, and the tree lined river.
** A minimum of 4 people are needed to start this activity **
Part of the fun with Jet boating is the spray, therefore during some of the high-speed maneuvers you may get a little wet.
Spray jackets can be provided to wear under your life jacket to keep you mostly dry and warm. If you are particularly concerned about getting a little wet it is recommended that you sit in the center seats of the boat. Please note however this seating is not guaranteed.
