Take a leap of faith as you tombstone into aquamarine pools and meet the area's curious seal population that regularly pop up to say hello! A two-hour adventure conveniently located just minutes from the iconic Gazel Headland, the peninsula offers some of the most beautiful yet ecologically diverse and historically fascinating coasteering routes in Europe.

Location
A secret location only known by a select few, this coasteering course in Newquay is located just minutes from Towan Beach. Using a rocky outcrop known as Smeagol’s Perch, this cliff and cave route in Cornwall explores old smugglers' caves and is a sanctuary for the area's resident seal population. Newquay’s Gazzle Headland is famed for its sea cliff jumps, rapids and whirlpools - with many areas inaccessible at high tide.

Activity
A two-hour coasteering course along a route just minutes from Towan Beach, meet your instructor at the activity centre and kit up for this cliff and cave adventure. Follow the lead guide who will help you master skills like wild swimming, technical traversing (horizontal climbing), caving, how to negotiate sluices, natural rapids and big wash through. A multi-sensory experience for the fit and fearless, this Cornish cove route will have you clambering up through caves deep in the bedrock and leaping out into crystal blue plunge pools!  A secret spot, you won’t see any other coasteer groups down there, just plenty of natural wildlife and even some friendly seals!

Conditions
Coasteering combines sea swimming, low-level climbing, traversing, natural rapid riding and ledge leaps into deep water plunge pools. Coasteering tackles a rugged coastal route so you will need to bring a pair of lace-up shoes with hard soles. With less sea swimming involved on the, you’ll be confronted by an awesome cave with taxing yet fun traverses and an epic jump into a deep-water gulley.

Really well run, lots of fun. JB the Instructor really knew his stuff and we felt totally safe and in good hands. Was a real adrenaline filled adventure that pushed my limits in a good way.

This is the 3rd time I’ve done coasteering but this time brought my 13-year-old son. The activity was everything described, lots of jumps from various heights/ cliffs, scaling cliff sides, exploring caves and coves and the sea was pretty choppy so lots of rise and fall and getting pulled around 😊
