This half-day tour is ideal for couples, families, friends, and even your small furry companions and do not have to miss this special day.

Embark on a sailing trip from Heraklion Old Port to have a true sailing adventure! The experienced and welcoming crew will provide a memorable sailing experience with breathtaking views of Crete. You will have plenty of time to enjoy the scenery as the boat makes regular stops for you to enjoy the beaches and waters.

After being picked up from your accommodation, you will have a safety briefing and set sail for Dia, an uninhabited island with diverse wildlife. You will make stops at Agrilia Bay, Panagia Cove, and Agios Georgios for swimming, snorkeling, and relaxing.

Dia is a 7 nautical mile uninhabited island located north of Heraklion and protected by the Natura 2000 project due to its rich biodiversity. The journey to Dia takes approximately one hour and allows you to soak up the serenity of the sea, the tranquility of the surroundings, and learn about eco-sailing and the marine life in Crete. You can also take part in sailing activities with our skilled skipper!

Get active by swimming, snorkeling, sunbathing, or exploring your surroundings. Refreshments and snacks are available on board. After a fulfilling day, enjoy a dinner prepared for you on-site.There's even a chance to spot dolphins on the way back.

Greek island sunsets are renowned worldwide and offer a breathtaking display of colors as they dip into the sea.

Course of events

The tour begins at the Café Marina in the old Venetian Harbor of Heraklion. Upon request pickup from your hotel can be arranged. We will then be welcomed on board. Here, you will get to know your crew, go over safety and sailing tips, and embark on our journey to the neighboring island of Dia.

Upon arriving at Dia, you will anchor at either Agios Georgios or Panagia bay, depending on the weather conditions, both of which are located on the southern part of the island and are known for their crystal-clear, green waters surrounded by protected wildlife. Here, you have time to relax, admire the surroundings, and learn about the island's history and flora and fauna.

While you are swimming, snorkling or relax

While you are swimming, snorkling or relaxing on deck the crew prepares a delicious dinner for you, made of the freshest local ingredients. After which you will set sail back to the Heraklion Venetian port. On the way back there's always a chance of spotting some dolphins along the way.

Get an early start to avoid the extreme heat and spend the majority of the day sailing, which will surely pay off in more ways than one.

Course of events

Upon request you will be picked up you up from your hotel and gather at the Café Marina in the Old Venetian Harbor in Heraklion to embark on our half-day excursion. Upon arrival, you will be greeted and given a safety and boat handling overview. Then, it's time to set sail towards the stunning Dia Island.

You will anchor at either Agios Georgios or Panagia bay (depending on weather conditions) located on the southern part of the island, both of which are known for their clear green waters surrounded by protected wildlife such as the "Falco Eleonorae," the Podarcis erchardii schiebeli lizard, the wild goat Capra Aegagrus Cretica, a significant rabbit population of the endemic subspecies Oryctolagus cuniculus cnossicus, and the monk seal Monachus monachus.

For approximately one and a half hours, you can swim, snorkel, sunbathe, or socialize with your fellow travelers while enjoying refreshing drinks and seasonal fruit.

And if you work up an appetite after a morning of adventure, our skipper and host will prepare a delicious lunch made from fresh, local ingredients.

After lunch and perhaps one final dip, we will set sail back to the Heraklion Venetian port. Keep your cameras ready, as we may spot some friendly dolphins on the way.

It was our first time sailing and we really enjoyed it. Because we were the only one who booked the tour we kind of had our own private yacht. We were allowed to try to participate in everything and we got a lot of interesting informations about Dia, Kreta and Greece.
