Cycling Excursion around the Cape Kamenjak Coastline starting from Banjole

Head out on an adventurous cycle in Kamenjak Nature Reserve just South of Pula for 4 hours of exercise spiced with pitstops for sea swimming, refreshments, and cultural encounters!

This tour starts at the petrol station in Banjole, where your guide will lead you to the captivating landscape of Upper Kamenjak, located between Volme and Premantura.

Upon reaching Kamenjak, you will cycle along a gravel road that takes you up to the hilltop. Here, you can explore the interior of a military bunker while relishing the breathtaking views of Pomer's Bay and the rugged coastline of Cape Kamenjak.

As you enter the remarkable terrain of Lower Kamenjak by bike, you will follow a path that traces the footsteps of dinosaurs, eventually leading you to the shore. This area is renowned for its abundance of fossils waiting to be discovered.

Continuing your bike journey, you will make a stop near Polje Cove to visit an Istrian farm. Immerse yourself in the Croatian countryside and meet the local animals, including Istrian long-horned cattle, known as Boškarin.

Heading towards the southernmost part of the Kamenjak peninsula, you will have the opportunity to admire the untouched beauty of Lower Kamenjak. You will then have leisure time to explore on foot: head to Kolombarice Beach, indulge in a swim in the crystal-clear waters of Cape Kamenjak, and discover an astonishing underwater cave! Alternatively, you can simply relax in the shade. The stunning cliffs and the captivating Kolombarice cave create an ideal setting for an exhilarating adventure suitable for all. For the more daring individuals, there is an opportunity to experience cliff jumping.

Following the break, you will resume your cycling adventure through Kamenjak along gravel paths that wind through the most secluded parts of the nature reserve, eventually leading you to the peninsula's eastern coast. Here, you will be treated to a picturesque view of charming pebbly coves, adorned with islands in the background, as you cycle your way out of Cape Kamenjak towards the village of Premantura.

In Premantura, you will have the chance to visit the House of Nature Kamenjak (optional). This eco-centre offers an array of attractions, including an aquarium, terrarium, fossils, dinosaur footprints, captivating photographs, and interactive tools.

On your way back, the return ride to Banjole will be smooth and easy, taking you along a traffic road that runs parallel to the stunning pebbled Ščuza beach. You will cross to Pomer via a narrow footbridge before concluding your tour at Banjole, your final destination.
