Activity description

Join a guided scuba diving adventure with a knowledgeable guide to the fascinating Zenobia Site from Cape Greco. This excursion is for Advanced Open Water divers only, welcoming participants from ages 12 and up!

Cape Greco is a stunning natural area located on the southeastern coast of Cyprus, near the resort town of Protaras. Cape Greco is a popular destination for swimming, snorkelling, and diving, with its clear waters teeming with marine life and underwater caves waiting to be explored. On this day trip, you’ll explore the fascinating Zenobia dive site, situated off the coast of Larnaca, close to Protaras.

The guided scuba dive adventure will begin at the dive centre in Cape Greco. You’ll meet the certified instructor, who will provide all of the scuba diving equipment (wetsuit, mask, snorkel, fins, regulator, buoyancy control device, tank and weights). You must have a valid Advanced Open Water Diver certification to take part in this activity. There will be a maximum of 4 participants, to ensure a personalised experience. After a quick safety briefing, you’ll set off in a boat, sailing to the Zenobia dive site!

The Zenobia was a Swedish cargo ship that sank off the coast of Larnaca, Cyprus, in 1980 while on the way to Syria with a cargo of vehicles. The ship now lies on its side at a depth of approximately 42 meters (138 feet) on the seabed, making it accessible to experienced divers. It is considered one of the largest and most accessible wrecks in the Mediterranean Sea and has become a popular destination for scuba diving enthusiasts. The ship's cargo, including trucks, cars, and other vehicles, can be seen scattered throughout the wreck.

As you explore this fascinating underwater world, you’ll be surrounded by colourful marine life, including large groupers, octopuses, and schools of fish. The dive site offers excellent visibility, often reaching up to 30 meters (100 feet), allowing divers to admire the wreck and its surroundings in crystal-clear waters. The combination of history, marine life, and adrenaline makes this a must-do site when visiting Cyprus! After the dive, you’ll return to the dive centre in Cape Greco.

This incredible guided scuba dive adventure to the fascinating Zenobia shipwreck from Cape Greco is an unforgettable experience for all experienced divers!
