The daytime boat cruise has two pick-up options to choose from. The first point is Protaras Pier and the second is Paralimni Marina (also known as the Golden Coast Harbour). An experienced guide will welcome you on board, go through the itinerary for the day and allow you to get comfortable for the excursion. Throughout the tour, snacks and drinks will be available to purchase at the bar. After everyone has boarded (a maximum capacity of 100 passengers), the captain will set sail along the breathtaking Cypriot coastline.
The boat will first stop just outside the Paralimni Marina, with Famagusta visible in the distance. Famagusta is a rich historical city and was once one of the island's major ports. You will have a view of Varosha, the ghost town of Famagusta, which was fenced off and abandoned after the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974. The crew will give a brief history of this invasion. You will also pass by other ancient landmarks, such as the Ayios Nicolas Church.
After passing by the central bay of Protaras, you will arrive at the area of Cape Greco, a rocky headline known for its natural beauty, featuring sea caves, underwater tunnels, and interesting formations. Some points of interest you will see in this area include Konnos Bay, Ayioi Anargyroi Cave, Lovers Bridge, Shark’s Mouth Cave and Pirates Cave. The next stop is Turtle Bay, where you will have the highest chance of spotting some turtles! Here, you can swim in the refreshing water and bask in the Cyprus sunshine. You will visit the popular caves in this area while you swim in the royal blue waters. The next swimming stop is in the Blue Lagoon, where the water is deep enough to try diving off the boat’s diving boards! After approximately 30 minutes of swimming and enjoying the refreshing Mediterranean Sea, you will sail back to the starting point in Protaras (the first return stop is Protaras Pier and the second is Paralimni Marina).
