Autonomous Canoeing Kayaking Trip down the Rhône in Avignon

Spend around 1.5 hours cruising the waters of the Rhône on this self-guided canoe-kayak trip in Avignon!

You will have the pleasure of canoeing / kayaking along the Ile de la Barthelasse in Avignon, on an 8 km stretch of the Rhône straddling the Gard and Vaucluse departments. Aboard a 1 to 3-seater canoe or kayak, you will share a pleasant experience in the heart of nature with your friends and/or family, finishing with a unique finish under the Pont d'Avignon and a breathtaking view of the Palais des Papes!

This self-guided canoe-kayak trip down the Rhône begins in front of the Saint-Bénézet bridge, where you will receive your equipment before boarding a shuttle that will take you to the starting point of your excursion, north of the Barthelasse island. After a briefing on paddle handling and safety, you will set off for around 1.5 hours of peaceful paddling on the Rhône to reach the Pont d'Avignon and its chapels of Saint-Nicolas and Saint-Bénézet.

Once you have finished canoeing / kayaking down the Rhône, you will be able to relax in the refreshment room at the base while enjoying the superb panoramic view of the Palais des Papes and Notre Dame des Doms d'Avignon!
