This canine trek at the Col des Palomières offers you the chance to combine your love of animals and nature: bond with your four-legged friend while enjoying the sublime views of the Pic du Midi! Cani-hiking is a unique opportunity to explore the Pyrenees in symbiosis with your faithful companion, making ascents easier thanks to canine traction, while descents will stretch your muscles, giving you a fun and sporting workout.
On this walk, you'll discover the Col des Palomières, located at the entrance to the Baronnies, to the east of Bagnères de Bigorre. This little pass, rising to an altitude of 810 metres, offers a 360° panoramic view of the Baronnies, as well as a majestic glimpse of the Pic du Midi.
During your cani-hiking trip near La Mongie, you'll be accompanied by a dog suited to your level, whether it's a more leisurely family outing or a dynamic experience for thrill-seekers.
When you arrive at the meeting point, you'll meet your instructor. He or she will introduce you to the cani-rando activity, the equipment and the dogs. You'll be fitted with a special belt adapted to your body shape, connected to an elastic lanyard which in turn is connected to the dog's pulling harness. Together with your canine companion, you'll embark on a walk lasting either 30 minutes or 1.5 hours. After this canine trek in the Pyrenees, you'll have some free time to cuddle and snuggle with the dogs, strengthening your bond with these fur balls!
