Embark on an exciting guided e-bike tour to explore the old and modern areas of Athens with local food tasting. Welcoming adventurers from ages 14 and up!
Athens is the capital city of Greece, the largest in the country. The city has a dynamic mix of cultural activities, historical sites and modern neighbourhoods. On this tour, you will explore the charming villages of Athens while also visiting some of the historically significant monuments.
After meeting your experienced tour guide at the starting point in Athens, you will receive your state-of-the-art e-bike and safety equipment. The day starts off in the modern city centre of Athens, full of architectural landmarks related to the more recent era of Athens. The first landmark you will see is the Panathenaic Stadium, one of the most significant historical landmarks of Athens which is renowned as the only stadium in the world built entirely of marble. You will also visit the Greek Parliament and the First Palace.
Cycling downtown through the multiethnic part of Athens, you will pass various food stalls and shops with mixed smells and colours, showcasing the diversity of the city. You will pass through the Thission area, going up all the way to reach the gods of Olympus meeting on Mars Hill. This offers a lovely viewpoint of Athens below. Next, you will pass through Plaka, a unique neighbourhood underneath the Acropolis rock dating back over 3000 years.
The next stop on the tour is Monastiraki, another historical and vibrant neighbourhood. After cycling through the beautiful backstreets of the area, you will reach the recently renovated Cathedral of Athens. Here, you will stop for a break and a traditional Greek Gyro from an authentic food stall. After tasting this delicious local delicacy, you will cycle back to the neighbourhood of Plaka, to see some of the oldest houses still standing in Athens. This brings the e-bike tour to an end!
