Activity description

Þórsmörk is the last part of the famous Laugavegur trail, considered by many, the most beautiful part. It is named after the Norse god Thor, situated between three glaciers, Eyjafjallajökull, Mýrdalsjökull and Tindfjallajökull. To get there you need to cross several unbridged rivers, only reachable by large 4x4 vehicles.

Þórsmörk is regarded as “the hiker's paradise” among Icelanders: breath-taking scenery, vast landscapes, and numerous trails to follow, you will immerse yourself into the purest Icelandic nature has to offer.

During this 4-day hike, you will be able to explore a multitude of different awe-striking terrain. You will cross rivers, hike mountains, walk by lava fields, contemplate the singular sight that is a glacier, and get amazing views of this unique area. You will stay in the same mountain hut all 3 nights, setting off in different directions every day to trek new areas.

Our experienced and top-notch guides will keep you safe while you discover this beautiful area. Their knowledge of the grounds will allow you to discover amazing hidden gems hidden in these valleys, such as canyons, crates and caves that only well(versed locals know about.

We will close off with a delicious celebratory BBQ on the last night in our Hut!

You will walk between 4 and 7 hours every day, with a maximum of 1000 metres (1100 yards). This is therefore a moderately tiring activity, that we recommend to people who are keen to get their calves a light workout.
