PADI Dry Suit Diver Course and Scuba Diving in Silfra near Reykjavik

Practical information
Exclusively for certified divers holding a PADI Open Water certification or equivalent, this experience combines training and adventure (1 guide for 3 participants).
On the first day, you’ll complete your PADI Dry Suit Diver Specialty Course, and on the second day, put your new skills into practice as you join the unforgettable Silfra Scuba Diving Tour.
Course of events
Day 1: allow 10 to 12 hours in total
- Theory and knowledge review
- Pick-up and drop-off from central Reykjavik included
- Confined water session at a local pool with introduction to diving in a dry suit
- 2 open water training dives at a local dive site to practice diving with the dry suit
Day 2: allow 3 hours in total
- Pick-up and drop-off from central Reykjavik to book separately
- Arrival at the meeting point at Silfra 15 minutes before the tour start time, check-in with guides
- Division into groups of 3 people, one group per guide
- Briefing and gear-up with your guide (∼1 hour total)
- Once you are fully dressed, your guide will take a number from the park ranger and that will be your group’s number to enter the water
- Make your way to the entry platform, short wait (wait time may vary)
- Weight check upon entering the water
- 1 dive of 30-40 minutes with a maximum depth of 18 meters
- Exit through platform, walk back to the meeting point (∼250 meters)
- Take off equipment, enjoy hot chocolate and cookies to warm up
- At this point, you will have time to chat with your guide, ask any questions you might have and take a look at the pics taken during the tour
Activity requirements
All participants must be certified divers at the level of PADI Open Water or equivalent and be in good physical condition to take part in this activity.
The minimum/maximum weight for this activity are 45kg/120kg.
The minimum/maximum height for this activity are 150cm/200cm.
You must be able to communicate in English to take part in this activity.
All participants must have read, signed, and followed directions on the online Diving Medical Statement (link provided in the confirmation email)
Participants over 60 must have the Diving Medical form signed off by a doctor.
All participants must sign an insurance waiver on-site.
The signature of a legal guardian will be required for participants under 18 years old.
A minimum number of 2 participants is required to run this activity.
Special terms
This activity is not accessible for pregnant or disabled people.
Pets are not permitted to join in this activity.
Unfortunately, PADI dive training regulations prohibit both the dive instructor and the students from carrying a camera of any sort during training dives.
If pictures are taken in Silfra (safety is the priority for the guides), you will be able to purchase them after the tour.
