Grab a paddle and join Extreme Time Off on a sea kayaking excursion from Killiney Beach to Dalkey Island. From Killiney’s coastline, you will head to the Sorrento Terrace, crossing Dalkey Sound. Along the way you will see plenty of cormorants, seagulls, and other sea birds on the island… but probably the most famous wildlife that will make an appearance is a herd of wild goats that have lived on the island for over 100 years! With some luck from the Irish, you’ll also catch glimpses of rabbits and seals!

Dalkey Island is small but rich in history. An eleventh-century church with curious windows is tucked away on the island along with an ancient pagan stone. On the south end of the island, you will find a well-preserved fort with three remaining canon battlements and a Martello tower. This kayaking session is a perfect way to get active while soaking in Ireland’s coastal history. This activity is suitable for beginners and experts!
