Activity description

Calling all adventurers! Discover the scenic Hardangerfjord from Øystese on this fast-paced RIB safari near Bergen. Welcoming participants ages 5 and up.

Located in southwestern Norway, near Bergen, Hardangerfjord is the third longest fjord in the world. At approximately 179 kilometres (111 miles) in length, Hardangerfjord features mountains, high cliffs, waterfalls, and lush landscapes. A boat tour in Øystese is the perfect way to enjoy the incredible scenery of Hardangerfjord while also having a blast!

Your adventure begins at the meeting point in Øystese where you and your group (a maximum of 12 participants) will be greeted by your experienced guide/Captain. Next, you will be provided with your gear, which includes a flotation suit, a life jacket, goggles, gloves, a hat, and a neck warmer. Once your guide has given a safety and itinerary briefing, it's time to board the RIB (rigid inflatable boat). Then, the fun starts!

You'll feel an adrenaline rush like none other as you set out at high speeds towards Hardangerfjord! Along the way, you'll pass by the historic trading town of Herandsholmen. From here, the boat itinerary heads northwards to Fyksesund, a fabulously beautiful fjord arm in the middle of the Hardangerfjord. This area is the only part of the fjord that boasts wilderness all around, without any roads along the inner sides of the fjord. This 5 km (3 mile) leg of the boat tour offers breathtaking views of the mountains as you travel to the charming village of Botnen, situated at the end of the fjord.

Throughout the excursion, your guide will make several stops for you to savour the stunning surroundings as well as share interesting facts about the fjord and the people who once inhabited the fjord farms. If luck is on your side, you may spot some of the region's wildlife, including porpoises who sometimes pop up to the surface to say hello. Don't forget your camera! At the end of your whirlwind Hardangerfjord boat tour, you'll return to the original departure point in Øystese with lifelong memories.

Super rasant, hat viel Spaß gemacht. Aber nicht gefährlich. Zudem viele interessante Informationen vom Guide. Es geht nahe an Wasserfälle heran und der autofreie Fyksefjord ist wunderschön.
