Valldøla river is perfect for rafting. The section we are running our family tour is in the calmer part of the lower section of the river. The stretch is about 5km with fun waves and rapids along the way. It is just tough enough to have fun and be able to play around, but at the same time have a safe rafting experience. We can promise you excitement, swimming in the river and not least served a local delicacy. The grading of the family stretch of the Valldøla river is grade 2. This means a lot of fun, but also calmer parts where you get to enjoy the scenery.

Itinerary

1) Briefing at the meeting point:
The welcoming guides will inform you about the trip and provide everyone with important rafting equipment: Wetsuits, rafting shoes, helmets, and life jackets. From here you will be transferred to where the rafting begins. The trip leader will give a thorough safety briefing, before splitting the group into different boats with their own guides and then, the adventure begins!

2) Rafting overview:
After some easy training in a safe area, the trip starts with a few fun warm-up waves through the first section before we try a couple of bigger rapids. Along the way and as the river calms, there are multiple raft games our guides will let you try! We will also find a place to stop along the riverbank where all guests get the opportunity to swim a fun river rapid. It is a surprising and rewarding experience to feel the power of the river as you safely float through the waves. Once everyone has cooled off enough from swimming in the river we continue downstream through high mountains and endless fields of strawberries.

3) Ending:
After 5km of beautiful scenery, adventure and excitement, we pull our rafts up to the river bank to end the trip. We light a fire, warm water, and serve a local delicacy, Svele, with local strawberries and cream. A great way to refuel while waiting on our transfer back to our office.

2) Rafting overview:
After some easy training in a safe area, the trip starts with exciting rapids and waves through the first section of the Valldøla. As the river calms we take our first break on the riverbanks. All guests get the opportunity to swim a fun river rapid. It is a surprising and rewarding experience to feel the power of the river as you safely float through the waves. Once everyone has cooled off enough from swimming in the river we continue downstream through high mountains and endless fields of strawberries.

Just over halfway point we pull out and take a lunch stop along the river. We light a fire, warm water, and serve a local delicacy, Svele, with local strawberries and cream. A great way to refuel before setting out on the final, and swiftest section of the river. The grade steepens and rapids increase in both number and size.

3) Ending:
After 11km of beautiful scenery, adventure and excitement the river flows quietly out into Norddalsfjord through the Valldal village, where we head for shore. Back at the office we dry off, warm up and reminisce about the wonderful rafting trip.
