Practical information
Get certified as an open-water scuba diver with 5 theory lessons, 5 sessions in the pool, and 4 dives in the open sea! An expert instructor will take you through every step to keep you safe, make sure you learn the right techniques, and help you when you need it.
Course of events
- Arrival at the meeting point and introduction to your instructor
- Paperwork and Liability Releases
- Courses briefing to define the schedule of the dives and the theoretical courses
- 9 dives to be done in 3 days
- 5 theoretical courses to do in the 3 days
- After the dives & theoretical courses validation of your Open water level
- You receive your certification and can do open water dives all around the world!
- Return of equipment and end of activity
Activity requirements
All participants under 18 must provide written parental consent.
Please note you must provide a medical certificate dated within the last 3 months from your GP stating that you are allowed to practice this activity.
All participants must know how to swim independently.
Special terms
It is not recommended to take a flight until 24 hours after the last dive.
This activity is not recommended for pregnant or disabled people, as well as for people with heart/respiratory or psychological conditions.

Azul Diving Center Madeira is located in Funchal and has SSI and PADI certified instructors. Three days will be enough for you to become a diving professional in waters up to a maximum depth of 18 metres/60 feet worldwide. What does this course consist of?
The diving course of Azul Diving Center Madeira consists of 5 theory lessons with an instructor, 5 practical sessions in the natural pool of Quinta do Lorde and after all this preparation... 4 open water dives! On the last day you will get an Open Water Diver certificate.
