Come on a kayak tour along the coast of Pico Island in the Azores!
The Portuguese archipelago of the Azores is made up of 9 islands. You've probably heard of São Miguel, the largest island and the capital of the Azores. However, its neighbouring islands such as Faial or Pico Island also have amazing vegetation, fauna and landscapes that you can't miss.
Pico Island is the second largest island in the Azores and if there is one thing that stands out about this island it is the Pico Mountain: the highest mountain in Portugal. It is a volcanic island with a black lava floor and lava tubes that can be visited, such as the Gruta das Torres. Isla de Pico is also known for its whale population and its great whaling tradition.
A good way to discover Pico Island is on a kayak trip along its coast. From the port of Lajes do Pico, a town well known for its whale watching, Hominis Natura's instructors will take you to explore the island's beaches by kayak on a 2.5 hour excursion where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Pico Volcano, observe the rock formations and there will also be time for swimming and snorkelling!

- Meeting at the port of Lajes do Pico with the instructor.
- Equipment with all the material and briefing on how to navigate with the kayak.
- Start of the route to the old whaling factory along the coast with views of the Pico mountain.
- Stop for swimming and snorkelling.
- Continue to a volcano crater and rock formations.
- Stop at one of the beaches along the coast.
- The walk continues until you reach a lake where you will also make a stop.
-Return to the port of Lajes do Pico.
