Embark on an exciting hiking adventure to explore the hidden treasures of Mount Etna in Sicily, the highest active volcano in Europe! This sporty full-day tour is perfect for hikers who love mountains and are ready for a real challenge. Led by an expert guide, you will discover unexplored areas not accessible by car, including old lava flows, a lava cave, and the impressive Valle del Bove caldera. Along the way, your guide will provide fascinating insights into the geological and cultural history of the Sicilian volcano.
The hike will take you through varied landscapes, including steep ascents and descents, rocky paths, and rugged terrain. You should be physically fit and prepared for hiking at high altitudes. The scenery is breathtaking, with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, the blue Mediterranean Sea, and the imposing volcano, including its unique flora and fauna.

Itinerary
- You will meet your instructor at the meeting point at 8:30
- You can choose to be picked up directly at your accommodation (upon request and payment of the extra fee) or to drive to the meeting point
- The 4WD vehicles will take you to the volcano
- You will hike for approximately 8-10 km (5-7 miles) up to a maximum elevation of 2,700 mt (8,900 ft)
- Enjoy your outdoor lunch break
- You will visit old lava flows, a lava cave, the famous caldera "Valle del Bove", and admire the stunning panorama with the Ionian Sea in the background
- Your visit will end by 17:00 and you will be taken back directly to your accommodation or to our meeting point depending on your initial agreement
