One of the most popular activities in Picos de Europa, the descent on a kayak of the Deva River is the perfect way to have a relaxing and yet exciting day out!
The Deva River is born in Fuente Dé and flows all the way to Spain's greatest ravine, La Hermida. From there, the Deva continues until joining the Cares river in the small town of Panes. This amazing river is a vessel of life, in its crystal clear waters and filled with fauna.
As you paddle down the Deva, you'll discover a world full of life: ducks, herons, many species of birds, otters, deer, foxes, squirrels, and many fish, including trout and salmon!
Canoe Aventura Trophy offers you the chance of experiencing the Panes to Unquera segment of the Deva River on board of a kayak. If you choose to go on a guided trip, you'll take off at 11 am., the only timeslot available. Self-guided descents can be done throughout the day.
The approximate duration of the descent is three and a half hours for a route of 14 kilometers. Upon your arrival at Unquera, the crew will be waiting for you to drive you back to Panes. You just need some instructions and a good team to enjoy a day descending the most mighty river of the Picos de Europa.
