Embark on a guided tour with a photographer to witness the enchanting and awe-inspiring Northern Lights in the beautiful arctic Abisko in Swedish Lapland. 

Abisko is a small village situated in northern Sweden. The area is renowned for its stunning natural beauty and picturesque Arctic landscape, featuring mountains, forests, and the famous Abisko Canyon. The tour will begin at one of the pick-up destinations (please specify when booking). The dedicated guides will collect you from your hotel in Abisko in a heated van (groups have a maximum of 8 participants). The experienced team will spend the day before tracking the weather and deciding the past route to take in the night. The destination and the driving distance will depend on the conditions, they will drive wherever is needed to find the clear sky.

Once everyone has been collected, the chase to find the Northern Lights will begin! You will be driven to the best location in Abisko, or even to Norway or Kiruna. As you drive through the Arctic evening, the guides will share insights about the natural area and the most important facts about the unique region. You will learn about Lapland’s ancient traditions and culture, including information about the Sami people, the last indigenous community in Europe residing in the area. The land is also home to many unique animals like reindeer, moose, foxes, Arctic hares and owls, which the guides will try to help you spot during the drive! Abisko is famous for its microclimate and cloud-free nights, which greatly increase the chances of seeing the Northern Lights.

Once you reach the best viewpoint destination, you will leave the van to hopefully see the magic Aurora Borealis! The guides will make a roaring campfire, and you will enjoy some traditional Swedish cookies, chocolates and warm drinks while admiring the Northern Lights.

The professional photographer will take pictures and videos of you and the Aurora in the sky with their camera, which is optimised for night photography. All of the photos are included in the tour and will be sent to you by email a few days later. The photographer will also help you take your own photos if you bring your camera to truly capture the moment and keep this beautiful memento. After you have enjoyed the campfire, watched the Northern Lights dance in the sky, and learned the stories and myths that surround this natural phenomenon, you will head back to your starting point in Abisko.
