True South Travel is an Oudtshoorn based eco-operator specialising in the Swartberg Mountains.
We offer half-day and full-day guided tours and scenic leisure hikes in the Swartberg Mountains (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) from our Swartberg conservation centre, situated in the mountain.
We also offer our renowned “High 5” Stargazing experience from several Oudtshoorn based guesthouses, introducing guests to the Southern Celestial night sky.
Our conservation and social upliftment programs pioneered by our H.O.P.E. Foundation (www.hopefoundation.co.za) form an integral part of our eco-tours.
We have also partnered with the local "Khoi - Potskerf" initiative to integrate the culture and legacy of the historical Attakwa Khoi people into our Swartberg Eco-tours by training guides from the local community.

Lynette collected us from our hotel on time. Immediately friendly, she provided an informative commentary of the area on our trip and was able to answer a wide range of questions. Enthusiastic, knowledgeable and clearly wanting to ensure her guests expectations were met. There was opportunity to walk sections of the Pass to further appreciate it as she followed in the car.
